Another print added to the shop this week—I'm already dreaming of days when the garden is overflowing, the air is warm, and the ground is wet and new (instead of slippery!). If you're as hungry as I am for the green to replace the snow, feel free to pick up one of these new pieces, here.

OOTDsketches (3)
Scarf: Italy; Sweater: American Eagle; Jeans: gap curvy; shoes: Kelly&Katie by DSW |
President's Day and our first official day of break. Can I just say that even though we stayed home (in the cold), it was a really great week?? SO great to recharge a little, and just get some things done around the house.
top: target; jeans: gap's sexy boot; socks: target? |
Kind of a lazy day. Intended to go out, but ended up staying around the house in some patterned knee-high socks and bright read lipstick. No complaints ;)
Dress made skirt: target; Sweater: NY&C; booties: Kelly&Katie by DSW |
Tax day! Not tons of fun, but so nice to have it done and off the mind for another year or so. This is what I would definitely say is the not fun part of running a personal business: legal/tax stuff. Anyway, this outfit appeared earlier and will likely come again and again—BECAUSE I LOVE IT! I would wear it every day if that was socially acceptable.
Cardigan: TJmax; Sweater: target; Jeans: gap sexy boot; socks:?? |
Another day working at home. I had some client work to do and the icy roads kept us from the "adventure" we were hoping to have. Love the flow of this cardigan, it almost makes me feel elegant as I trip / slouch around the house. Still trying the red lip, but not sold.
And yes, I do often stand in this fashion with one foot on the side... I'm going to go lame one of these days!
Sweater: Kohls?; Jeans: Gap curvy; Slippers: target |
A long car ride to drop off some of my husband's artwork in a State wide show, then a visit with the in-laws. I noticed that the past 2 or 3 times that we have visited them, I have worn this sweater... might be time to mix it up a bit!

Short and Sweet
Hah, just kidding! But I am the oldest in my family... and I love it... and them :) One of my brothers and my sister are in college, so we do not get to hang out all together much at this point in our busy lives, but I still get to go home and see the "baby" of the family whenever I visit my parents.
Although, he's not much of a BABY anymore!!
Although, he's not much of a BABY anymore!!
"Baby-bro" literally reaches down to lift me up and squeeze the life out of me after I walk through the door. But I love it (when I can breath again). I'm the shortest one now and it's still strange for me to be looking up at everyone when I typically am looking down in other circles (like my in-law's for example).
But that's okay ;)

Blog Stalking: TIA
She's a YouTube beauty blogger and uploads a new video every Wednesday. I am a recent follower (seriously, a month?? not even), but I love her sweet personality and the fact that she doesn't just focus on the high end products, but she also goes for the affordable, "drugstore" brands. She has a blog, but honestly doesn't post to it very often, so I rarely visit.
I found one of her recent reviews helpful with a recent lipstick purchase and that alone got me hooked! lol

OOTDsketches (2)
I thought I could get away with only posting my #OOTDsketches every month, but at this point there are getting to be too many to make a very enjoyable post! Super long and grows kinda dull after a while...
That being said, I think that I will post the outfits that I sketch every Wednesday, featuring the work from the week before. Too bad I didn't think of this earlier! Either way, here's the first half of February for your viewing pleasure:

Love is...
Love is patient, love is kind... Love helps with the dishes when you're panicking about your "to-dos" and you don't know how you are going to get everything done!
I remember saying to my mom when Todd and I were first hanging out: "even if this relationship
doesn't go anywhere, my standards have skyrocketed now that I know a guy like this is out there!" Sometimes I still can't believe that he married me.

Blog Stalking: J's Everyday Fashion
And the "Blog Stalking" series continues with J's Everyday Fashion. (I know, I know, another fashion blog—but my inner fashionista can't resist!)
"J" takes inspiration from celebrity / magazine outfits and creates her own version for a fraction of the cost! She also takes the time to respond to comments / questions on the blog, and is just all around a sweet girl (from what I can tell, hah). When I saw this outfit, I just knew that I had to draw it—even though I didn't finish... but I was sick, give a girl a break! ;)

Competitions: Minted's "Let's Celebrate"
Trying more new things this month—why not?
I recently stumbled upon this stationery site, because... well, I LOVE me some stationery! That's why I design my own, so that I can have tons of options at my fingertips!
Anyway, turns out this site has competitions... and the winners get $$ (always nice on a teacher salary), and their design(s) are sold on this site.
"oooh" (I said to myself)
I've missed the atmostphere of art competitions. And while I will probably not be as heavely involved in competitions as I was during my undergrad (when I was helping everyone cut/frame mats and even hanging the gallery before the big reveal), it would be fun to enter a few designs.

So I did. I entered the "Let's Celebrate! Wedding Parties Challenge"
And here are my designs:

February Calendar, 2014
I can hardly believe it is the beginning of another month! Times has flown, though I always feel like January is a blur—an icy blur.
Well, enjoy the new desktop background for this month—attempting to embrace the snow and remember how beautiful it is this month (rather than focusing on how cold I am!)
